Welcome to Axis Kichijoji International school!

We use the home study program offered by Griggs International Academy. Each child is enrolled by us into their program. All materials and correspondence come to Axis International where we ensure that the children complete all the work in a timely manner.

Children who are not able to study in the English language will need to take intensive private classes and allow for an adjustment period before following regular courses. It is not easy, but for those who have a strong motivation, we are willing to help. We also offer full bilingual support to the parents who may need it.

We use a check sheet to indicate each class that a child needs to complete. Once they have mastered the skill for a particular class, they will progress to the next class, and so on. In this way, a motivated child can go as fast as their abilities allow them to.

A child who is quick in one area may be slow in another and they can use the extra time gained from one subject with a subject where they need more time. The check sheet enables us to know exactly where your child is at any point in time. It also means that your child will not miss a lesson due to an absence from school. When the child returns, they continue exactly where they left off.

Tests are taken at various intervals. Upon completion, they are sent to America for grading and where an official grade report is issued. Once the work is graded a report is send back with the work that the child has done and a meeting is scheduled with the teacher and the parent. The grades are looked at and any improvement that needs to be made are discussed. If a child needs to modify their program, then this would be the time to do it.

At Axis, we not only wish to strive for academic excellence, but also for excellence of character. This is considered a key component of success. While most of our students are not Christian, all study the Bible as part of their program. We believe that the Bible is a lamp unto our feet, a light unto our path of life.

Upon completion of a school year, children have the same accredited academic qualifications as any American child. Diplomas, sent from America, are issued upon completion of all the requirements. The Griggs program is accredited by the Education Department of Maryland State, U.S.A.

Once High School is complete, it is possible to then go on to study at an American university. There are many options, so please come and discuss your needs with us.
